Dr. Carolann Slattery Ed.D., LCSW-R, is the Chief Clinical Officer for Samaritan Daytop Village. In this role, Dr. Slattery oversees all clinical and quality assurance activities for the agency's programs across New York City, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley. She also ensures the delivery of evidence-based practices while monitoring and evaluating clinical outcomes.
Dr. Slattery is passionate about her work in the addiction treatment field and is an advocate for individuals with addiction and mental health concerns. She has worked with adolescents, adults, and families for three decades within the behavioral health, judicial, and educational systems.
Previously, Dr. Slattery was Vice President of Outpatient Services for Samaritan Daytop Village. She served in the same role at Daytop Village before its merger with Samaritan Village in 2015.
In addition, Dr. Slattery serves as the Superintendent of The Daytop Preparatory Schools in Suffolk and Rockland Counties. For the private charter school, Dr. Slattery leverages her prior experience as a special education advocate and clinical specialist and the former Vice President of the Special Education Committee for Rockland County.
A certified CASAC trainer, Dr. Slattery is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at several universities. She is a prolific writer, having authored evidence-based curricula, literature reviews, and program evaluations.
Dr. Slattery has a BA in Communications from Dominican College, MS in Literacy and Education from Long Island University, MSW from New York University, and an EdD and a PsyD in Counseling Psychology, Administration, and Supervision from Argosy University.
